The Raven Mavens are an offshoot critique group of AQuA.  The group meets once a month to critique each others work, present design and color exercises and just to have fun.

In October of 2010 we borrowed an idea from our member in Scotland (Georgina Chapman) and started a challenge.  Someone (in this case Kathy Schattleitner) chose a photo and interpreted the photo as she wished.  She then passed her quilt on to the #2 person who completed her quilt only by looking at Kathy’s quilt.   She returned Kathy’s quilt to her and passed her own quilt to #3 who repeated the process…all the way through #12.  No one except the first person ever saw the original photograph.

We had the “big reveal” on October 10th and then the quilts were taken to the 10/15 AQuA meeting.  If you missed the meeting and would like to see a photographic arrangement of them, please go to “Member Info” > Raven Maven Chinese Whisper Photos.

The photos are shown in order.  Unfortunately my photographic skills are again lacking, but you can get a pretty good idea of what each of us came up with.    It was so fun!
